Virtual Activities

In our new digital-focused reality, there are many unique ways to connect with your Little from a distance. A virtual meeting can seem boring or daunting but just know that your Little truly values any amount of time or kind of interaction with them. Whether you use Google Duo/Hangouts, Skype, Zoom, Facebook Messenger for Kids, or FaceTime, there are countless online activities to try with your Little! Below are some ideas – don’t be afraid to try something new!

01. Play a virtual board game together

You can find many online board game options by searching online, or try the Board Game Arena site.

02. Make some music together 

Use this fun and easy site to write a song with your little! If you're using a virutal meeting platform, be sure to record your meeting so you can share your masterpiece!

03. Take a virtual Museum tour

Google Arts & Culture has over 2,500 different museums to tour with your Little! You can find an extensive list here

04. Learn to write a comic book!

Be the super hero or heroine in your very own comic book! Participants will go through the creative process, from story lines to implementing art. Ages 6-12

05. Go to Zookeeper Camp!

Join Zookeeper Andrea and her animal friends to learn all about mammals, reptiles and birds!

06. Go to Magic camp!

Abracadabra! Join magician Ben to learn some cool magic tricks with things you can find around the house.

07. All things Superhero!

Head over to the Marvel Headquarters website to find games, videos, stories and even comics!​

08. All thing Space

Zoom on over to Nasa's activity page, Nasa at Home, where you can learn to draw rockets, create experiments, design your own video game, or travel the planets!

09. Play charades on Zoom

An easy way to interact with your little that doesn't require any resources. Come up with your own words, or use this word generator for ideas.

10. Create a Minecraft world to explore with your Little

Did you know you can download Minecraft on your phone? Create a world and invite your Little to play. Great for explorers or future architects!

11. Learn a new language together!

Learn a new language together using Duolingo, then practice having conversations over the phone in that language.

12. Write a story together

Simply start a sentence and have your Little add words. Go back and forth and you'll end up with a wacky story! Or use Boomwriter to learn more about the writing process.
